New residential construction way up in Wake County

The inventory of homes for sale in the Triangle is low, but new residential construction continues to outpace last year by a wide margin. Through November, the price tag of new residential projects underway in Wake, Franklin and Johnston counties since the beginning of 2017 reached $3.2 billion, according to a report from Dodge Data and Analytics. That’s a 28 percent increase over the same time period last year, which saw just $2.5 billion.
