Annual house price growth in the UK slows to lowest since July 2013

Average house prices in the UK increased by 2.5% in the year to December 2018, down from 2.7% in November 2018, the lowest annual rate of growth since July 2013 when it was 2.3%, official figures show. The data published by the Office for National Statistics using data from separate indices in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland, also shows that over the past two years there has been a slowdown in national house price growth, driven mainly by a slowdown in the South and East of England.
