First time buyer mortgages in Wales reached a 12 year high in 2018

More first time buyers got a mortgage to get on the housing ladder in Wales in 2018, with industry data showing they increased by 4.3% in the final quarter year on year. There were 4,800 new first time buyer mortgages completed and the £0.58 billion of new lending in the quarter was 7.4% more year on year while in 2018, there were 16,800 new first time buyer mortgages, some 1.2% more than in 2017.
