Florida Home Sales, Median Prices Uptick in Q3

According to the Florida Realtors, Florida's housing market had more sales, higher median prices, more pending sales and more new listings in 3Q 2018. Closed sales of single-family homes statewide totaled 72,843 in 3Q 2018, up 7.5 percent from the 3Q 2017 figure. "Florida's economy and jobs sector continued to grow during the third quarter of 2018," said 2018 Florida Realtors President Christine Hansen, broker-owner with Century 21 Hansen Realty in Fort Lauderdale. "In September, the state's unemployment rate was 3.5 percent while the U.S. unemployment rate was 3.7 percent. Florida's homeownership rate for the third quarter was 64.4 percent.
