Average asking prices in the South East and East of England on a downward trend

Asking prices in the UK have fallen in the South East and East of England as both regions follow Greater London on a downward slide, the latest index shows. While asking prices in London have now been on a downward slide for 31 months, values have bow fallen 6.3% over that period and are down 2.5% compared to a year ago and down 0.7% month on month to £518,257. The Home.co.uk December index also shows that asking prices in the South East are down 0.8% on an annual basis and down 0.7% month on month to £397,056 while in the East of England they are down 0.6% year on year and 1% month on month to £354,075.
