Home building activity reached an all-time high in Australia in 2018

Home building activity in Australia reached an all-time high in 2018 but experts are predicting that the number if residential properties under construction will fall over the next two years. Figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) show that the residential building industry did $68.7 billion worth of work on new homes during 2018 which was an all-time high. The data also shows that the volume of activity began to retreat from the peak during the second half of the year. The total value of building work done on new homes declined by 3.7% in the final quarter of the year.
