Mortgage Applications Down in Mid-July

According to the Mortgage Bankers Associations Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending July 12, 2019, mortgage applications in the U.S. decreased 1.1 percent from one week earlier. Last weeks results included an adjustment for the Fourth of July holiday. The Market Composite Index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, decreased 1.1 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the Index increased 24 percent compared with the previous week.
