Five-Year Residential Rental Market Report

The last five years have been remarkable ones for the Manhattan rental market. This study examines the market from the beginning of its decline in 2008, and follows it through its eventual recovery. In contrast to our other market reports, this survey tracks “prime” Manhattan neighborhoods only. All apartments examined for this report were located south of 96th Street. The rental market in these prime neighborhoods has reached new heights, and this growth is a testament both the speed at which the rental market changes, as well as to our city’s resiliency.
