Cappa and D'Alberto Plc is one of the most prominent names in the Nigerian construction industry, is the result of the efforts of two remarkable men from Piedmont in northern Italy: Petro Carlo Cappa and Vigino D'Alberto. C&D act on the various construction markets. Industrial, Residential and Commercial. It was established in 1932 with only a modest capital, a newcomer in a static construction industry. Had it not been for a series of small jobs secured from the Catholic Mission the partnership would have been threatened before it had found its feet, but even the proceeds for these were barely enough to offset the running costs. Then, still in 1932, for the construction of the offices of the "Sindicato Commerciale Italo-Nigeriano"​ (the Italian-Nigerian Commercial Syndicate) in Tinubu Street in Lagos. Thereafter, the tide slowly began to turn.
