Fixing our broken housing market

In the housing White Paper, ‘Fixing our broken housing market’, we made it clear that our priority is building the new homes this country needs. We made a commitment to deliver a million homes by the end of 2020 - and half a million more by the end of 2022. We set out proposals for tackling the housing shortage in England in four chapters. In the first, Planning for the right homes in the right places, we looked at how we could achieve better, more realistic plan-making which faces up to housing need, to make sure that more homes are planned in places where people want to live.
